While the primary focus of this project was on exteriors with this projects environments, the creation of numerous assets allowed me to explore interior spaces as well. The key gameplay areas include village exteriors, camps, jungle, and cave systems, with a strong emphasis on creating furniture and other assets designed for outdoor use. I deliberately chose textures and materials that reflect the wear and tear of outdoor environments, ensuring they feel authentic within these settings.
However, to add versatility, I developed some assets with dual texture sets, allowing them to function seamlessly in both exterior and interior environments. This approach not only expanded the use of each model but also allowed for the creation of convincing undercover locations, such as a communal laundry area where villagers gather to wash textiles. Additionally, I created makeshift wheelchairs, trolleys as well as many other asset assemblies by taking advantage of the many texture atlases, timesheets and modular type assets to kitbash parts into new assets. This allowed me to further reflect on the village’s resourcefulness in addressing mobility needs among many other needs. This method has the added benefit of adhering to the game's art style without much effort as I create more and more new asset assemblies extending the value and time put into creating the Atlases and modular assets.
